About
Me

My purpose is to help you grab control of your career and enhance your productivity using proven management strategies I've mastered in my 15-year career as an executive and business researcher.

How it all began

Early Days

A decade ago, I started my Instagram account while I was a PhD student in business school.  I like being a technology and operations researcher and I enjoyed building the foundation of my career as an international business practitioner.  At the same time, it often felt so stuffy and one-dimensional only showing colleagues and other aspiring business women my “serious” side.

Posting on Instagram allowed my to show my fun side, my fashionable side, and my athletic side, while Sao posting on work, career, books, or whichever serious topics I felt might be of interest to others since they were interesting to me.

I always believed that people can grow their career on their own terms, and truly enjoy the process of work.

Career Reality

What I hadn’t realized was that my perspective stemmed from having mostly been the boss for the entirety of my career.  I’ve been a consultant to the governments of several countries, advised top international development organizations, and started my own business that raised millions of dollars in funding.

In each role, I had nearly always been in the seat of the boss or the employer, driving the vision and determining the outcomes.

Of course I loved my work–I was in control of it!

Future of Work

Fast forward a few years and I found myself in the position of employee for the first time since I was 16 and worked at a bagel shop.  Suddenly, I was seeing things from the other side.  In my leadership position within the company, I saw how easy it was for companies to hire and fire people at will.  I realized that for most employees, there is no such thing as job security and some of the best people will be overlooked for promotions they actually deserve.

Just like you, I used to believe that putting my head down, working hard, and being smart would guarantee career success.  But now, the world of work is changing.

Companies are retaining few employees.

Workers are operating more independently.

Through my corporate career and business research, I’m seeing that only those people who are ready for the future of work will success under the coming new workplace structures.

Proactive workers are transforming from overworked and under appreciated employees to financially thriving independent portfolio career professionals who manage their own time and trajectory.

My mission is to prepare you for the future of work and place you in the driver’s seat of your career.

I teach you how to prepare for the future of work by leveraging the knowledge and skills you have to take control of your career and build multiple paid work streams.
